MERMAID DAY

ABOUT: Mermaid Day will be held on select days throughout the summer when the tide is too high for surfing. It’s a fun, creative beach day designed for all the little mermaids who find themselves stuck on land! Expect plenty of games and arts and crafts, that will keep everyone smiling.

What to Expect on Mermaid Day

During Mermaid Day, we’ll have a variety of fun, creative beach activities. Please note, the crafts and activities are subject to change each week but for back to back mermaid days we will be doing the same craft. Please see some examples below.

Our goal is to make every Mermaid Day a memorable experience filled with imagination, games, and creativity—perfect for all our little mermaids!

  1. PINK HAIR EXTENSIONS

    As part of the fun, each girl will have her hair braided and added with pink hair extensions, making her feel like a true mermaid for the day! It's a perfect way to add a little extra sparkle to the Mermaid Day experience.

  2. SEA SHELL CRAFT
    Each Mermaid Day, we will create a different sea shell craft, with the project changing daily. Some examples include:

    • Sea Shell Wind Chime

    • Sea Shell Mosaic

    • Sea Shell Necklace

    • Sea Shell Frame

    • Sea Shell Name Letter

    • Sea Shell Whale

    Crafts are subject to change, so each day offers a new and exciting project to bring home a piece of the beach!

  3. SWIM LIKE A MERMAID
    Depending on ocean conditions, we’ll take the girls out during high tide to practice diving under the waves in front of the lifeguard stand. It’s a fun way to feel like a true mermaid while building confidence in the water!

  4. TIE DYE
    Each girl will get the chance to tie-dye her very own Pink Pineapple shirt, hat, or bag! It’s a fun, colorful way to take home a personal keepsake from the day, full of beachy vibes and mermaid magic!

  5. FRIENDSHIP BRACELET

    We’ll be making friendship bracelets in true Taylor Swift style—with lots of fun colors, beads, and charm to make each bracelet unique! It’s the perfect craft for bonding with new friends and taking home a stylish memento.

  6. OCEAN SAFETY CLASS

    Before we head into the water for our swim during the snack break, we’ll have a brief ocean safety class. During this session, we’ll cover essential topics like rip currents, tides, and what to do in an emergency situation in the ocean.

    This ensures that all participants are equipped with the knowledge to stay safe and confident while enjoying the water.

LOCATION

Whiting Ave beach in Manasquan, NJ (cross street first ave) Whiting ave beach is the the first beach North of the Manasquan inlet. Walk up the whiting ave ramp straight onto the beach access. Our tent and shed will be 100 feet to the left in the middle of the beach. Please tell the badge checker you are here for Pink Pineapple Surf.
